"Warning: This book makes you want to move to Erris! This book is Vampristic! My Rating: 10 of 10!

My Cover Thoughts: I love this cover so much! Lexie is holding onto Torin! I bet you did not know that, neither did I but Bonnie told me that is who it was. Lexie looks so happy holding on to Torin.

My Thoughts/Review: I have read a lot of books but this book had me wanting more. It starts out with Lexie and how one thing changed the dynamics of her family. She was lost and slowly getting over things when she was thrust into a very uncomfortable situation. Decision made she stuck it out.
The one true happiest Lexie has is her dreams. Every time she closes her eyes to dream she is greeted by a familiar face. She wants to stay sleeping so she can enjoy her sandman. When she wakes she is reminded of the reality she is living. That is till she moves to a small town in the middle of nowhere.

When she arrives in this town with her family she is surprised by the way people greet her and her family. She soon m

akes friends and goes to a bonfire where she sees this guy that looks so familiar but it can’t be can it? Mr Sandman is there in real life.

What happens next is a complete journey that you will not want to miss. Lexie has her ups and downs and in the process she must learn to trust her instincts and go with her feelings. She will find out who she can trust and who she can’t but most of all will she find her true love in all this mess and will she be able to love him unconditionally.

Take a ride on this roller coaster as we see what happens to Lexie in her new town with new friends!

Memorable Quotes: Page 108 Courtney ambled over to their table and stared down “well if it isn’t Erris’s model-minority and his new bestie,” her sarcasm was so thick it dripped. She turned her glare on Lexie, “I see only your brothers have social skills. Oh, that’s right they aren’t really your brothers, are they? Yeah, they were quick to point that out.”
Lexie wished she had Liz’s comeback skills. Before she could respond, Theo retorted, “Ignore her Lexie, she bleeds from her mouth every twenty eight days.”

Advice: This is a MUST MUST MUST READ!"

Rating: 5 out of 5" ~ Author Elizabeth Waldie http://elizabethwaldie.wordpress.com
"About: Lexie Anderson is quite surprised when her mother decides to move to a small, mysterious town in Maine with her new husband and stepsons.
However, this new, boring town seems to hold even bigger surprises than Lexie could have ever imagined.
After years of dreaming of her true love–a dream that ends with such a horrible “goodbye”–Lexie finally finds him.
Torin.
The mysterious “bad boy” that everyone loves–and wants to be loved by! But Torin only has eyes for Lexie…even if she doesn’t know the truth about him…
Then there’s Lexie’s stepfamily. Is it strange that they run off into the woods at night? And what is up with Max’s mood swings? His other two brothers seem fairly normal. Siblings are supposed to watch after each other, but not the way that Max watches Lexie…it’s weird…a little too weird.
An adventurous, paranormal-soaked story about passion, love and everything in between, Fate Fixed is sure to snag your interest from page one and keep you captivated throughout the whole book!
Thoughts and Evaluation: Werewolves, vampires, and crazy cool characters? Who doesn’t love books like that?!
Fate Fixed was the perfect mix of paranormal adventure with a passionate love twist. I fell in love with the easily-likeable characters and wonderfully unique plot! From sinister bad boys to insanely perky best friends, the characters were well-developed and definitely people I’d like to meet in real life!
Lexie’s explored strength and her bond between Torin were different from anything I’ve ever read before–it was amazing. Mysterious murders, villains left and right…it’s nearly like a mystery book. Who do you trust when your own family seems to be suspicious? This book took sharp turns that I didn’t expect at all, and that’s one of the things I loved most about it.
This was most certainly my type of book! Between the unbelievable surprises and breathtaking romance, Fate Fixed was any teen’s dream read. Fast paced, intriguing, and more than you’d ever expect, I’d definitely recommend it. Put it on your reading list. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed. Miss Wheeler definitely has a knack for writing–especially writing paranormal romance, the exact topic that draws us teenage girls in.
If only I can wait for the next book in the series!

"There are just some books you know are going to be great right from the beginning, and Fate Fixed is one of those books!
The moment I began reading,I was consumed by this story! Bonnie Wheeler's debut novel, Fate Fixed, captures the dimension and raw emotions of her characters, so much so that at times I had feelings of anger and hopelessness and love racing through my body as if I were living the story myself. Be prepared for a story with so many twists and turns, you don't know who to trust and just who will make your skin crawl! I give this story 5 stars and I cannot wait to see what comes next from the very talented Bonnie Wheeler!"

By: Bonnie from Hands and Home at http://www.handsandhome.ca/2011/11/fate-fixed-by-bonnie-erina-wheeler.html

"My Thoughts: Fate Fixed is an edgy, exciting and extremely creative take on the supernatural world. In it Wheeler takes some of our favorite paranormal entities and turns them on their heads by giving them unique qualities and histories, making Fate Fixed both an incredibly fast paced and engaging read as well as unexpectedly mysterious.

One thing that I absolutely loved about Wheeler’s debut novel is that she was able to write a YA novel without the whining. I cannot tell you how many recent YA novels I have read recently and found it impossible connect with the characters because of their constant need to complain and whine. I was so happy to see in Lexie a character that was strong but still vulnerable and didn’t play the martyr card. She tried to keep a brave face through all the changes her family was experiencing (the death of her father, the addition of a stepfather and 3 stepbrothers to her family, and a major move during her senior year) but wasn’t emotionally cold or distant and that chink in her armor made her feel realistic.

I love, love, loved how Wheeler created this world and told the Erris Coven’s history. She kept you in the dark enough to hold your interest and force you to fly through the pages and then revealed the whole story at just the right time which kept the pace going and the reader engaged. Hers was such a different take on Vampires and I was thoroughly impressed by not only the unique characteristics she gave them, but also her ingenious explanation of how damphyrs (half-vampires) came to be. I loved this history lesson as much as I loved the rest of the book and think the way it was told was the perfect complement to the rest of the story.

Fate Fixed was a light romance and at first I wasn’t sure how I felt about the idea of the damphyr’s fate-partners. My initial reaction was that the notion of dreaming of the one you were fated to be with forever was an easy way to pair her characters together with little thought. Boy was I wrong. Wheeler’s lead up to Lexie meeting her fate-partner was fantastic and she described their unbreakable connection in a way that made me feel it viscerally. I cannot wait to watch this romance grow in the next installment of the series.

If I could wish for one thing it would be further explanation or exploration of what was happening with Ruby, Lexie’s mom. Something crazy was going on and there was a slight explanation towards the end of the novel, but I felt like if it was important enough to talk about in the first place than more time should have been spent on it. There could have been some really interesting elements added to the story there. And who knows maybe these details are being saved for book 2!

If you are a fan of paranormal YA fiction and have not picked up Fate Fixed I have to ask what are you waiting for? Wheeler breathes life into an area of paranormal fiction that is growing stale and gives her readers and mysterious and exhilarating ride through Erris County. Fate Fixed is a little darker than many books in the genre making it perfect for older teens and adults who are looking for more than broody but innocent vampires. "

"‘Fate Fixed’ is the first book in ‘The Erris Coven’ series by Bonnie Wheeler.

My love for this book and its characters was instantaneous. Lexie and Torin’s backgrounds are so very different yet very similar: they are a match made in heaven. Cian, Theo, Liz, Braden and Teagan all played their part in this book and I loved how it all came together. Theo and Teagan made me laugh quite a bit with their quick thinking wit.

I loved how Torin’s family history was explained in such depths. It made me realise that the other characters subtle comments earlier in the book were just teasing me and building me up for the full explanation into Torin’s history.

I felt so sorry for Lexie. Her history

isn’t as gruesome as Torin’s but still as tragic. She has had to carry some major guilt with her and I’m surprised that she hasn’t sunk into a major depression but it just shows that she is made of strong stuff. I did feel really bad for her when her mother was taking her step-family’s side in everything.

Overall, thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I hope there is more to come. If there is, then you will probably find me huddled up in a corner getting my fix."

By Mandy at Twimom101 Book Blog/ http://twimom101bookblog.blogspot.com/2011/08/review-fate-fixed-by-bonnie-erina.html"

My Take: Poor Lexie! I feel for this girl. Her mom is married to her new boyfriend just a year after losing her father. Her new siblings are odd...with a capital O. She is having a rather strange dream evolving around a certain boy, but it always ends violently. All this while being a teen and moving far away from her best friend...thats rough! But I like Lexie and really fell right into the story. Lexie's dream feels real to her for a short time after waking up...hoping, longing for this mystery guy to be real. But even so, she is now moving to the middle of nowhere with her new family in tow, so mystery boy may be lost to her forever. But Lexie sucks it up and doesn't complain. She wants to make her mother happy and not let her down. The story's plot is really interesting and I was actually shocked with certain revelations throughout the book. Its a great, quick paced read that you will fly through. Fate Fixed is full of suspense and romance, keeping you up late at night to finish. I enjoyed this authors writing and the use of multiple point of views. I enjoy books with different POV's..they always add a new perspective to the story line. Most the characters were believeable and realistic, just normal teens. And then you have Maxim. He is just one strange puppy. (HA! No pun intended) I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys paranormal reads. And I am looking forward to her next book in the series, Blood Twist.

"Fate Fixed reminded me of why I love to read Paranormal. Vampires and werewolves. Bonnie Erina Wheeler has taken me back to my first love—vampires and werewolves. Wheeler’s writing and the storyline in Fate Fixed is awesome. I fell in love with all the characters. The vampires are Braden, Torin, Cian, and Teagan, and the werewolves are Maxin, Alik, and Nicolai. But in this first book of the Erris Coven Series its Torin and Lexie's story and the vampires are the good guys. And boy are they ever good. Dang these vamps are hot! And so is their romance, which is called Fate-partner, a forever love—a love that is fixed by fate for eternity. I love Fate Fixed and I'm so glad there’s going to be four more books in the Erris Coven Series.

Lexie is eighteen and she’s been having dreams of a guy for the past year after her father's death. Lexie wants her mother to be happy again. Lexie's mother meets and marries Dragos, who has three sons of his own, and wants to move Lexie and Her sister Ella and mother to Maine so they can have a new start as a family. Lexie goes along with it for her mother, even though Lexie feels something is wrong with her new step-father and brothers. This is where Lexie meets the boy of her dreams, Torin, who has also been having dreams of Lexie for the past year.

Torin is eighteen and also a Damphy. And for Damphys, they dream to know the girl who will be their fate-partner; she’s the only one who can love him for what he is. And Lexie is Torin's love for eternity. But there’s someone else who's laid claim to Lexie, and he's not going to be nice about taking what he wants.

Fate Fixed is no Twilight. Most definitely not. That’s why I love it so much. Bonnie Erina Wheeler has created an awesome story where vampires and werewolves don't play nice when it comes to the girl they love. I can't wait for next book Blood Twist. I highly recommend Fate Fixed as a must read."

"Fate Fixed is the debut novel written by Bonnie Erina Wheeler. It is the first in what will be a series of five books in the Erris Coven Novel series. The next book in the series is due out this fall. Fate Fixed is told from alternating point of views among three of the characters. Lexie's family moves to Maine after her mother marries a man from Romania who has three sons. Her new step family is secretive, controlling, and even her mom's behavior stars changing. Everything Lexie thought she knew about the World is about to change after she meets Torrin, the boy who has been appearing in her dreams. When animals and humans are found savagely killed, both Lexie and Torrin will be forced to fight for their families, their love, and their lives.

Fate Fixed was entertaining from beginning to end. Lexie and Torrin's love is intense, and it is described so well within the book that when you read each character's point of view you can fully understand and feel their emotions for one another along with their inner conflicts. There are moments in the book that may be better suited to a more mature young adult audience depending on parental preferences. It provides a little something for everyone with its pleasant mix of romance, action, drama, and suspense."

By: Jody Zalabak Duffy/ Goodreads

"Fate Fixed opens as Lexie is moving to a small town in Maine with her new blended family. Lexie's real father died about a year ago in a car crash where she was driving. Since then, she has been drowning in guilt and trying to break through her little sister's anger. Her Mom, Ruby has remarried after falling in love with a Romanian immigrant through eHarmony. Dragos has 3 sons: Maxim, Alix, and Nikolai. The move is a big change and Lexie is trying to get used to her new brothers. Lexie's family is at best creepy and unusual. The mystery around her family continues to build until the action explodes. Ms. Wheeler does an excellent job at building the mystery and creepiness of Maxim. Alix is social and friendly building a comradere with Lexie. Both brothers seem to be at times too posessive and attracted to Lexie. Shortly after the move, Lexie's Mom begins to change and has mood swings that are unlike herself. She turns off Lexie's phone and internet which further creates a isolated strangeness about her new family.

Torin is a mystery that I don't want to give too much away about because that is part of the fun. There are four fine cousins with Torin being one, Teagan, Cian, and Braden rounding out the group. Braden has completed the change and is the "older brother" personality of the bunch. Teagan is the ladies man, Cian the devoted boyfriend and Torin the brooding and tortured soul over what he will become. When Lexie the girl of his dreams, turns up in Erris, he immediately knows she is his other half. But before Lexie and Torin can get too comfortable, there are animals being slain and gruesome finds in the woods surrounding the town. The cousins are trying to piece together the mysterious slayings before they get exposed or someone gets hurt. Torin and Lexie must fight to put together the mystery before it rips them apart or kills those they love most. This isn't your usual teen paranormal romance where everyone is "good" deep down. In this world, monsters do exsist.

Reading the summary for Fate Fixed intriqued me so much that I downloaded it from smashwords for my Nook and began reading it almost immediately. The story is told from different points of view- Mostly Lexie and Torin but also a mysterious wolf. The story starts slow and really takes some time to build. This is the first in a series so much of the first half is world and character building. I'll admit that I am a romantic sucker for the whole fated love thing which is why I wanted to read this in the first place. But Torin and Lexie seem to connect instantly but it didn't feel forced to me. The connection and romance is beautifully written on a soul level. It was like a beautiful symphony coloring the air. What really makes this book unique is the action that starts about two-thirds and doesn't stop. Secrets are exposed with some unique twists that I think will take most readers by surprise. I wouldn't recommend this book for younger teens as there are some mature graphic killings. I fully enjoyed this and read it in about a day. I love indie authors some of the best reads I have read lately have been indie. The next book is coming out in Fall 2011 so hopefully it won't be a long wait!

"Fate Fixed was so wonderfully different that I obsessively read it for five hours! I couldn't put it down until I finished it. It was original with well researched bits of lore and history. I found myself interested in the details, which is strange for me. I've read so many paranormal/fantasy/romance novels, that the characters and the world-building typically feel "watered down". Not so in this book. I'm very impressed, and will continue to follow this author's work in the future." ~ Leah Buchanan Mertzlufft/ Amazon

"I didn’t think I was a fan of paranormal romance until I read this book. Lexie Anderson kicks ass! As the other women in her family waste away into unrecognizable shades of themselves under the abusive, misogynistic influence of her new stepfather and stepbrothers, Lexie doesn’t waste any time on self-doubt. She knows something is wrong, and she follows her instincts. Unlike so many other victimized heroines of paranormal stories, Lexie is a fighter. She takes control of her own destiny and her own sexuality, and she shows true courage in her relationships with her family and her new-found love for Torin. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough to see how Lexie would deal with each new mystery and challenge, and of course to find out if her true love would be fated or doomed. I was cheering her on the whole way! Lexie Anderson is the kind of heroine we want our daughters to emulate and our sons to admire. Normally, I don’t have the patience to follow a series, but I’m already anxiously awaiting the next installment." Dr. April Dolata/ English Professor at NCCC/ Goodreads

"This book is very intreging. The fiction is accurately based in Europian folklore and very well written. I got sucked in and had a difficult time putting it down. I definately will be following the author as she continue to release books in this series. Give it a chance you won't be dissappointed~ Jerry /Goodreads

"I really loved the book! As soon as I started reading, I just could not stop. I kept wanting to find out what happens next! I cannot wait until the next book comes out!" Kristel Escarilla/ Amazon
"Absolutely amazing! From the first chapter to the last, Fate Fixed had me lured!! I am adding Torin and Lexie to my all time favorite couple list!! I am anxiously waiting for the release of the next book in the series!!!~ Emily Miller /Goodreads

"Okay people, when you read a book within a day I think it is safe to say that is was pretty dang good. Not only to new twist on the paranormal wolves and vampires [which was MUCH needed and it worked flawlessly] but the HUGE mystery you have to solve. Oh, and lets not forget a romance that is budding. From page to page Bonnie Wheeler kept me hooked.

This book opens up with Lexie dreaming of a heart stopping blue eyed man. After her father died in a car wreak that Lexie was the driver of, she has had this dream. Now, after her mother re-married and she has 3 new step brothers [who are some odd balls...and seem to have a little infatuation with Lexie...weird right?] they are moving to a small town in Main. Leaving her best friend Liz behind and the only town she has ever known is upsetting but all Lexie wants to do is make her mother happy.

After moving Lexie starts to really notice the oddness that her step brothers bring to the table, especially one in particular. And the thing is, it isn't only her NEW family that is starting to act up, but her own mother and sister as well. But after getting to meet some new people from town with one of the nicer step brothers she thinks everything might not be too bad after all. Then in steps Torin. Oh Torin! The brooding male who keeps to himself. Swoon. And since Torin as also been dreaming about a girl with amazing green eyes, you know things are about to get hot, and complicated.

You never know what is going to happen next in this book. One second you think you have it all figured out, and then the next chapter totally blows your mind. And since Bonnie Wheeler has wrote this book to not only be from our lead Lexie's point of view, but also from Torin's and a wolf. Which I LOVE. It helped us see how Torin and Lexie's feelings were toward each other and that also helped their fast coming relationship completely and totally work. It never seemed forced and I knew I would have done the same thing as Lexie.

Once the shockers hit and my mind what like "WHAT JUST HAPPENED HERE?!" I was even more in love with this book. I guess I should have really seen it coming, but Bonnie Wheeler did a great job of hiding the obvious from me! And I have to admit, after hating one character for the whole book and once seeing what happens to him in the end, I was so unbelievable sad! Which is odd, if I hate a character there is usually no redemption for them...

From the twists and turns, to the romance, and the incredible action this book is a MUST read for any YA paranormal book reader. It gives you everything you could ever ask for and then some. You will love the new take on the overdone vampire world and it will seriously hook you. Bonnie, I can not wait to read book number two. You are one of my new favorite authors.

Happy Reading All

"Werewolves are NOT usually my thing but author Bonnie Wheeler has made me rethink my past aversion to the wooly beasts, now they are Definitely hairy hotness!

Lexie's dad dies in an accident that she blames herself for. After a year her mom finally meets and marries her new stepdad who happens to have three sons. There is something different about her "new" brothers.
She begins having dreams about this guy Torin, who she doesn't know...yet. And Torin dreams of Lexie.
This adventure takes you down a path that most of us do not face...What happens when YOUR fate is already predestined?

I started this book not sure that I would love it because Author Bonnie Wheeler had filled me in on the fact that this was about werewolves. They're not really my thing, but I finished Fate Fixed panting for more! Her descriptions are perfect, I could see the area, be there with the characters. The characters are real, they could be you or I. No crazy, out of this world unbelievable storyline here AT ALL!!! I am soooo pleased with these men of the moonlight that I am seriously dying for more! Hint Hint Bonnie:) I don't want to give away too much about the book, Fate Fixed is a must read like The Vampire Academy to me. Please do yourself a favor and get your copy and allow yourself to sucked be in! This is definitely a book that I will read again and again!! 5 out of 5 stars for Fate Fixed from me!" ~ Author Kymberlee Burks-Miller'

"When I first seen the cover of this novel, I was all omg it's ssooo pretty!! But as you know, it's usually the prettiest covers that have the lamest stories. Not in this case! In fact, I'm gonna go as far as saying the story beats the cover (in a good way). The story starts off with Lexie trying to get to know her new stepbrothers, who all seem a bit odd, but hey, not everyone's the same...in some ways more than others. Her once sweet mother starts turning into this grumpy stranger and Lexie can't figure out why. Even her younger sister Ella seems to know more of what's going on in the family than she does. She meets the guy of her dreams (literally) and it's instant sparks.

Honestly, I think Lexie and Torin are the perfect couple and if I could make up the perfect man, it'd definitely be him! The story starts to get more and more exciting and who you think is gonna be the "bad guy" in all of this, turns out to not be at all. Amazing. There's so many twists and turns, there's never a dull moment throughout the entire book. Makes me love the paranormal stuff even more, especially the romance part of it. I swear I feel everything Lexie feels whenever Torin is around, and the characters are so well made up they really seem like real people. It was ssoo easy to get wrapped up in the story, I was so emotionally involved I practically wanted to cry when it ended! This is for sure one of the best books I've ever read. Bonnie does such an amazing job with her writing, I can't give her enough credit! I highly HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone even a tiny bit into the paranormal reads. Happy reading!" ~ Jessica Petterson at Addicted to Novels/ http://addictedtonovels.blogspot.com/2011/09/fate-fixed-review.html?spref=fb
